Customer Review: Exceptional value
This is my second Vizio set. We were so happy with our first set, Vizio was always a contender when we looked for a second HDTV. This set comes with picture in picture, which was a requirement for me. Visio appear to be the only manufacturer that supplies this option in sets in the price range. We are very happy with our selection. And of course the fact that the set comes with one year "in home" warranty makes this a hands down winner! Excellent picture, great contrast. I definitely recommend this tv.
Customer Review: solid picture
The HD picture on this set is very good (and I have only seen 1080i and 720p so far). Do not be fooled by the price. The SD DVD progressive scan picture (480p) is also quite good. Regular SD (480i) is pretty ho-hum. In fact, if you have a sizable tube and are not planning on upgrading to HD service (although major networks are free with an antenna and look great), you might as well hold off. This is the case for any HD LCD. They are designed for HD and all of them just look so-so with standard definition. The sound is also solid, very impressive for a flat panel. It also has ample inputs, although the ones on the underside are a pain to hook stuff up to (prepare to be cranking your head sideways to see just where the HDMI plugs in). The remote is the weakest point of the set. It has a layout that in not intuitive. I still keep looking for the 'menu' button to play with the picture and features forgetting that you have to press the orange 'V' in the middle. All around though, the set is a good value. If Sony or Samsung are not in your budget, you will not be disappointed by this Vizio. One more thing; I think the 120hz feature is a fad, at least for films. I haven't seen it for video games, but for movies it just doesn't look right. Some blur is natural. So, don't be lured away by that as it is a feature I would rarely have used anyway.
There are many different types of TV wall brackets available to wall mount your TV and we will run through them here in details so you can decide which one will be best to wall mount your new flat screen TV.
Flat Wall Mount
For those who want to mount the TV on a flat wall and would like the TV to be as close to the wall as possible then the flat mount is ideal.
If you shop around you should be able to find a TV wall bracket that has a very thin profile of just an inch which will keep the TV nice and flush to the wall.
Tilting Wall Mount
The tilting mount is again ideal for a flat wall and the bracket can actually be flat as well as tilted down slightly usually no more than 15 degrees. This mount is useful if the flat screen TV is mounted quite high on the wall in relation to where people are going to be sat watching it. It's also a good choice where light perhaps from a window is likely to be shining on the screen. With the ability to adjust the angle of the screen you can get rid of light being reflected and spoiling the picture quality.
Tilting mounts however will always be a little thicker in depth than a pure flat mount so your TV will have a bigger gap behind it. This doesn't matter in situations where you are sitting directly in front of the TV but if you regularly have to view it from the side you will see the mount behind the screen etc.
Tilt & Swivel Wall Mount
The tilt and swivel bracket is one of the most commonly bought mounts for smaller LCD TVs upto 32 inch in size. The tilt and swivel TV mounts allow movement from left to right and up and down giving the viewer the ability to view from lots of different seating positions.
As with a tilting mount this type of wall bracket will create a bigger gap behind your TV screen than a flat mount but you do have the benefit of different movement.
Cantilever Wall Mounts
These are the ultimate TV wall mounts in terms of flexibility of movement. The allow you to pull your TV away from the wall on an arm in a straight direction and then consitina back to the wall. Not only that they also tilt up and down and move from left to right. Cantilever mounts are often used to go across a corner of a room or where the TV viewing angle needs to be altered so it can be seen in 2 rooms such as a lounge and dining room.
Ceiling TV Mounts
These are generally used by businesses rather than homes and you will often see Plasma TVs suspended from the ceiling in supermarkets advertising products. Also they are frequently used in leisure centres, nightclubs, bars and pubs as it keeps the screen out of touching distance and gives everyone the best view of the screen.
Hopefully you will find this guide useful in choosing a TV wall mount for your Plasma or LCD TV no matter what size screen you buy. If you have any questions then please use the link in the resource box to find out more.
